4th Nigerian Entertainment Conference In Lagos
The fourth edition of Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive) that started on 20th April jazzed up the ideas, products and services of African entertainment industry -Nollywood. This global creative event was held amidst the magnificent valleys of Victoria Island in Lagos.
All Nigerian music executives participated to discuss with the leading comedy, IT, fashion, sports, media and allied sectors representatives on everything and anything concerning Nigerian entertainment industry. The major objectives that were supposed to be coveted in this conference were to find issues and their solutions, connect and form networks, showcasing ideas, products or even services that can trigger the innovation in the industry, definitely the kind that this country needs.
Ayeni Adekunle, chairman of the Conference quoted as saying that the purpose of this gathering is to show the world how entertainment industry in Nigeria can contribute to its economy and growth. He insisted prominent music executives, panelists and key speakers to begin the discussions based on case studies, experiences and on creating music clips that focus on other areas of non-oil Nigerian economy.
“Entertainment Industry as Last Hope for Africa’s Largest Economy” was the theme of this most-awaited conference that is hoped to change and set a new agenda for Nollywood so as to become the influencing contributor to the economy of Nigeria. Not just this but also set some innovative-yet-ethical standards for other significant industries of the country. Since 2013, the conference is organized annually in different regions of this African country. Like always, this conference witnesses participation of notable people from all different sectors of the entertainment industry who conduct workshops, exhibitions, and discussion panels. Bringing together such amiable guests, this conference serves a great platform for discussing issues, problems, and challenges that are surfacing and preventing the growth of Nigerian community, economy, and heritage. New ideas come up that are believed to empower the entertainment industry and propel it to serve the country in a manner that it effectively leverages the economy.
Consecutively for the fourth time, this conference was hosted by a prime TV personality Tee-A. Funke Akindele (Award winning actress/Producer), Banky W (CEO, EME Records/Cinematographer), John Ugbe (Managing Director, Multichoice Nigeria), Waheed Olagunju (Acting Managing Director, Bank of Industry), Dayo Adeneye (Commissioner for Information and Strategy), Olatunde Falase (MD/CEO Braincraft Ltd.) were some of the guest panelists who meticulously contributed to the motive.
All previous versions of this conference have been majorly helped in developing and redefining the direction of the entertainment industry in the upliftment of this country. And no wonder the hopes were so high this time too.
